Laying the groundwork for support in Syria As part of our commitment to a people-centred approach and local ownership, DCAF is taking concrete steps in the scoping phase for Syria, leading up to the design of a potential support programme. A key initiative in this process involves convening a Syrian Reference Group, which brings together Syrian academics, experts, and activists to test, explore, validate, and refine ideas that will help shape a potential DCAF support programme in Syria. The group recently met to advance this work. This initiative follows our first scoping mission to Damascus and will be further developed during a second mission in the coming months. 14 May 2025
