DCAF met with the Minister of Interior of North Macedonia to discuss ongoing processes within the Ministry of Interior supported by DCAF's Intelligence and Security Sector Reform Programme in North Macedonia. Discussions included improving the automated exchange of biometric data, strengthening police integrity through the implementation of the Ministry's Integrity Plan 2023-2025, and improving cooperation within the criminal justice chain.
04 Sep 2024DCAF wrapped up a series of meetings in Kyiv with national and international stakeholders dedicated to Ukraine's security and defence transformation. We held discussions with key partners, including the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and other security actors, focusing on aligning our collective efforts to advance critical reforms and ensure the resilience of Ukraine's institutions. We compared notes with NATO, the European Union and other international stakeholders, reinforcing our cooperation and exploring new ways to strengthen security frameworks in Ukraine. We are grateful for the meaningful collaboration and trust our partners have placed in us.
03 Sep 2024This week DCAF’s Director Nathalie Chuard (left) and Thomas Greminger, Director of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (right) welcomed Tobias Privitelli, the new Director of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining. The three ‘Geneva Centres’ as they are widely known, are all funded in large part by the Swiss government. We work from different angles to support the same goals: peace and security, especially in fragile and conflict-affected places. The three Directors meet regularly to talk about how the Centres can collaborate to maximize their impact and best support the work being done across International Geneva.
30 Aug 2024Recently our team in Skopje met with Elena Spasovska from the Police Integrity team of the Ministry of the Interior to discuss the creation of a hybrid system for integrity training in the Ministry. Ms Spasovska said, “We are grateful and happy to have DCAF in our trainings, always with open and comprehensive support. Together we will strive to make positive changes in building the integrity of the Macedonian police.” This work is part of our Police Integrity Building programme which helps to raise awareness and stimulate public debate about the importance of police integrity and accountability, and works with police institutions to develop tailor-made capacity-building initiatives.
