Accountability

Preventing harm or addressing incidences of harm (through harassment, exploitation or abuse) to DCAF personnel, partners and stakeholders embodies DCAF’s Duty of Care principle. 

As a socially responsible employer DCAF’s Integrity Policy outlines the responsibility of all personnel working with or for DCAF to prevent harm to both people and the organisation. It emphasises reporter protection and victim-centered approach in the handling of all cases. 

Reports can be submitted anonymously through the Integrity Reporting Platform. It is simple to use and available in 4 languages – English, French, Spanish and Arabic.  All reports will be handled with utmost care and will remain confidential. 

These evaluations were commissioned by the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). They look at the relevance, effectiveness efficiency and sustainability of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), and DCAF - the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance.

External respondents consistently describe DCAF as 'the world’s most important knowledge centre on SSR/G,' a partner that is 'reliable, technically strong and highly adaptable' and 'a leader in inclusive and gender-responsive security governance.

DCAF’s comparative advantage lies in expertise and, equally importantly, in its ability to remain engaged in politically sensitive reform processes over extended periods of time, often maintaining relationships where other actors withdraw."
