Overview

DCAF is a strategic implementing partner for the International Code of Conduct for Private Security Service Providers (ICoC), which outlines principles and standards for the provision of private security services which are in compliance with international human rights and humanitarian law. The ICoC Association was created in 2013 to certify companies, monitor their subsequent compliance, and to develop a complaints procedure. DCAF activities include:

  • Supporting the institutional development of the ICoC Association, in conjunction with its government, industry, and civil society pillars.
  • Developing relevant tools in order to support the implementation of the ICoC.
  • Raising awareness and building support for the ICoC among relevant stakeholders.
