Geneva Peace Forum meets Vienna

DCAF will co-host a thematic session at the edition of Geneva Peace Forum Meets Vienna, held at the Park Hyatt Vienna.

Organized in partnership with the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), the panel titled “From risk to resilience: linking mine action, security sector governance and food security in Ukraine” will address the critical intersection of humanitarian demining, security sector governance, and global food systems.

This session will explore how mine action can contribute to restoring access to agricultural land, enabling safe civilian return, reopening transport routes, and supporting local and global food security. It will also examine how security sector governance can strengthen community safety and protection, creating the conditions for resilience and recovery. Particular attention will be given to Ukraine’s role as a major global food producer and how governance, security provision, and mine action intersect to support food systems, livelihoods, and broader human security outcomes in wartime conditions.

Panelists:
- Ambassador Nathalie Chuard, DCAF Director
- Ambassador Tobias Privitelli, GICHD Director
- Olena Tregub, Secretary General Ukraine’s Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (NAKO)
- Tiphaine Lucas, Head of Mine Action & Land Rehabilitation (FAO Ukraine)

Moderator: Kate Fearon, Director OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre
