Vincenza Scherrer

Vincenza brings over 20 years of experience in research, policy and guidance development, with a particular focus on security sector governance. She has held several roles at DCAF, including Deputy Head of the Policy and Research Division (2017–2025). Previously, as a Senior Advisor (2014–2017), she led DCAF’s transition to results-based management.

Beyond DCAF, Vincenza served as an Advisor at the UN Security Sector Reform Unit within the Department of Peace Operations in New York and has consulted for various UN entities.

Earlier in her career, she worked at the UK House of Commons. She has published widely on topics related to peacekeeping, peacebuilding, and violence prevention.

Vincenza holds masters degrees from the London School of Economics and the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva.
