In Cyprus, the police have worked to combat discrimination, and to raise awareness of diversity and multiculturalism, by instituting new training curricula and entering key partnerships.
In accordance with a 2013 policy, training for police has been revised to introduce specialized courses on legislation and policies that relate to combating racist violence, xenophobia, and discrimination. A Memorandum of Understanding for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights was also signed between the police and non-governmental organizations, to further improve and develop closer cooperation in protecting and promoting human rights.
