Ombudsperson creates platforms for inter-community dialogue in Senegal

In Senegal, the Médiateur de la République (Ombudsperson) has created inter-community platforms for dialogue, gathering civil society, traditional mediators, and other actors to engage on conflict prevention at the local level.

This initiative by the Ombudsperson supports the realization of a number of SDG targets by reducing all forms of violence (16.1); promoting the rule of law and improving access to justice (16.3); ensuring responsive, inclusive, participatory, and representative decision-making (16.7); and strengthening national institutions to prevent violence (16.A).
