The National Human Rights Commission deploys mobile legal aid clinics in The Gambia

In The Gambia, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has deployed mobile legal aid clinics across the country, to increase access to justice for Gambians.

A team from the NHRC now travels throughout the country, listening to the concerns of people and rendering advice in these clinics. Among the issues brought forward by citizens are problems relating to police bail, cattle theft, and identity documents. Helping to resolve these issues represents a significant step toward achieving SDG targets on legal identity (16.9) and on providing access to justice for all (16.3).
