Cristina is a human rights attorney with more than twenty-five years of experience in developing partnerships to advance human rights-based security sector governance. She is the former head of the Tolerance and Non-Discrimination Department at OSCE ODIHR and former managing director for the Identity and Discrimination Unit at Amnesty International USA. She has also served as legal counsel to the Human Rights Campaign and the Congresses of both the United States and the Republic of Palau.
She has provided expert testimony on legal and policy issues before the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the European Union, the OSCE and the U.S. Congress. She also serves as the Vice-Board Chair for Amna Refugee Healing Network.
A former adjunct law professor at George Mason University, she holds a JD from George Mason University, and a BA from the University of Michigan.
