Colleagues from DCAF’s Chisinau office came together in Geneva for a week of team meetings and strategic planning, as part of the project "Strengthening security sector governance in Moldova", funded by Sweden. The week provided an opportunity to step back from day-to-day implementation, reflect on the progress of this multi-year project and align on the workplan for the remainder of 2026 and 2027. On that occasion, discussions took place regarding issues shaping Moldova today, such as territorial conflict settlement and security governance.

In collaboration with RENEDEP, WANEP-MALI and COMAGESC, DCAF held a capacity-building workshop in the Bandiagara region in Mali under the project "Malian women mobilized for climate, peace and security," funded by the Peacebuilding Fund. The initiative aims to equip members of the Security Advisory Committees with skills to integrate gender and climate-risk dimensions into local security governance.
The Royal Hashemite Court of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan issued a decree to approve the agreement endorsed by the Jordanian government, granting the diplomatic status to DCAF’s regional office in Amman. This landmark moment follows the agreement signed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates providing for the establishment of the Geneva Centres in Amman. Opened jointly by DCAF and the GICHD, the new hub will support engagement with national authorities, regional partners, and communities across the Middle East and North Africa.
DCAF’s Senior Regional Adviser for the Sahel, Valérie Petitpierre, spoke at the international conference on climate change and security in the Sahel. During a panel on women, youth and marginalized groups, she highlighted the role of women as natural-resource managers and frontline peace mediators across the region. She also emphasized the importance of recognizing women and youth as governance actors.

With the support of DCAF and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the Directorate of Military Justice organized an awareness-raising workshop on operational stress management. The workshop strengthened the capacity of armed and security forces to prevent and manage operational stress, promoting ethical decision-making, respect for human rights, and professionalism within the security sector.
