These guidelines are a useful tool for improving the relationship between the National Police and media in Colombia. The content is based on international standards of freedom of expression and the most significant findings that resulted from numerous trainings and dialogue sessions led by DCAF between Colombian journalists and the Colombian National Police.

The guidelines aim to materialize those findings into practical suggestions that respond to the needs of journalists and police in the daily development of the work in which they often coincide.
