Leadership training for women in the Gambia Police Force As part of our efforts to support gender mainstreaming in the Gambia Police Force, DCAF collaborated with the GPF to launch the Gender Promotion Initiative.  The goal is to develop female police officers' skills, equipping them with the necessary competencies to rise up the ranks of the Gambia Police Force. As part of this ongoing initiative, DCAF conducted a five-day leadership skills training in essential topics like police administration, performance management, operational planning, and professional development. It was possible thanks to the generosity of the European Union. 10 Jun 2024

Sharing the realities of SSG/R work We were pleased to welcome masters’ students from Andrássy University Budapest to the beautiful Maison de la Paix for a presentation about DCAF’s research and operational work. Their many questions turned into a lively discussion with our expert staff about the concepts underlying security sector reform processes, and the challenges of holding security forces to account - especially in complex and conflict-affected environments. We are passionate about SSG/R, so it’s always gratifying for us to see interest in this important work among up-and-coming researchers and security and development professionals.   06 Jun 2024
