[Mali] Human rights violations & Covid-19

In view of the recent spike in allegations of human rights violations, DCAF has worked alongside the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) to carry out fact-finding missions in the regions of Kayes, Koulikoro, Sikasso, Ségou, Mopti, and in the six communes of the Bamako district.

These investigations sought to shed light on the allegations of heavy-handed police tactics and human rights violations, and to observe the practices of several detention centres and prisons.

As a result of these missions, scheduled between the end of May and the beginning of June, reports detailing human rights violations during the health crisis were produced.
