The DCAF Policy and Research Division’s Results-Based Management/Monitoring and Evaluation Programme seeks to strengthen international approaches to monitoring, evaluating and learning from international support to SSR. Its current areas of research include:

  • Collecting over 100 publically available evaluations in the area of SSR and compiling these into an online database.
  • Conducting a comparative analysis of this large sample of evaluations to provide policy-relevant information regarding approaches to undertaking more effective evaluations in SSR.
  • Taking a first step towards documenting and analysing theories of change underlying programming in the area of SSR.
  • Undertaking a comparative analysis of lessons identified in the evaluations.
