Putting into action the UN-WB report 'Pathways for Peace: Inclusive Approaches to Preventing Violent Conflict'
A public discussion and ‘fishbowl’ event, organized by the Inclusive Peace and Transition Initiative (IPTI), the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), and the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform in collaboration with the UN DPA, UNDP, and the World Bank Group.
Maison de la Paix, Monday, 9 April 2018, 14.00-17.00, followed by a reception.
- This event focuses on the practical options and opportunities for the prevention of violent conflict following the release of the UN-WB report Pathways for Peace: Inclusive Approaches to Preventing Violent Conflict. This report is an important milestone in the discussion on the prevention of violent conflict and includes the research and analysis of several Geneva-based institutions.
- Following the launch of the report’s main messages during Geneva Peace Week, in November 2017, the United Nations Department for Political Affairs, the United Nations Development Programme, and the World Bank Group office in Geneva are hosting a series of events on 9 April to present the findings. This public discussion will focus on how the shared commitment to preventing violent conflict is put into action by multiple actors.
- To explore the full range of perspectives, the organizers have opted for an interactive event format, known as a 'fishbowl'.
