Lisa Boström is a Project Assistant for the DCAF Sub-Saharan Africa Division, working on enhancing security sector governance in sub-Saharan Africa.
Before joining DCAF, Lisa worked at the West Africa Project of International Crisis Group in Senegal, focussing mainly on Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Côte d'Ivoire, and on the role of ECOWAS in peace and security. Other previous experience includes working on security and governance related issues in Africa with the European External Action Service and the Embassy of Finland in Zambia, as well as internships with the United Nations Secretariat in New York and the Finnish-African cultural centre Villa Karo in Benin.
Lisa holds a master's degree in political science and a bachelor's degree in French language and literature from Abo Akademi University in Finland. She also studied at Université de Rennes I in France and Université Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar, Senegal.
