Security Sector Reform in the Middle East and
North Africa
The DCAF Working Group on Security Sector Reform
in the Middle East and North Africa was established to provide DCAF
with advice and guidance in developing and implementing a programme
of work on good governance of the security sector in the wider Middle
East. It collects information, undertakes research and encourages
the exchange of knowledge at the national, sub-regional and regional
levels, with a view to assisting interested governments, parliaments,
governmental and non-governmental organisations, both national and
international, in the Middle East in their efforts to improve accountability
of the security sector. The Working Group draws on the knowledge
of practitioners, policy-makers, academics, and other experts on
and from the Middle East.
