Project Officer, Gender and Security Division
Anna-Lena Schluchter is a Project Officer for the DCAF Gender and Security Division. In this role she conducts research, delivers courses and provides technical assistance on gender and security.
Anna-Lena previously worked for the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) acting as the focal point for gender and diversity mainstreaming. Prior to joining the GICHD, Anna-Lena Schluchter was a Research and Project Assistant at the Inclusive Peace and Transition Initiative where she conducted policy research on the inclusion and influence of women’s groups in peacebuilding processes. She also worked for the NGO Initiatives of Change International on the links between land degradation and conflict as well as for the association of Swiss grant-making foundations (SwissFoundations). As an intern at the Swiss Mission to the UN in New York she provided support to the Political Team and focused on issues treated in the UN Security Council.
Anna-Lena Schluchter holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs (specialization in conflict and peacebuilding) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva where she focused her dissertation on the prevention of sexual violence in conflict by non-state armed actors. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Arabic and Military History from the University of Zurich.
Anna-Lena speaks English, French, German and Italian.
